Welcome to BJS Enterprises, where you can turn your antiques and collectibles into cash on eBay! Whether you have an accumulation of items that you no longer want, have new interests and need to sell previous hobbies to make room or raise cash, or are divesting an estate, we can help! 

 

Here is what we do for you:

 

• Inventory your collection
• Research the age, origin, and collectability of your items (the more information you can provide, the better)
• Appraise the current eBay market value, to the extent possible (based on available identification information)
• Describe and photograph your items for sale on eBay
• Manage the auctions, answering questions and conveying offers
• After the auction, collect payment and ship the item to its new owner
• Provide you a check for the proceeds of the sale (minus commission)

 

It’s just like taking your items to your local “auction barn,” but better, since your possessions will be offered to a much larger pool of bidders.

 

The commission structure is as follows, based on the final eBay sales price:

 

• For final price up to $50, 30% of price plus all auction-related fees;
• For $50.01-$250, 25%, plus one-half of auction-related fees;
• For $250.01-$1,000, 20% plus one-quarter of auction-related fees; and
• For $1000.01 or greater, 15%. 

 

I will work with a limited quantity of lower-priced items, or I will work with them in conjunction with more valuable offerings.  Compare this with some of the auction drop shops that have spring up — many will not accept items with an eBay value lower than $75.  

 

Consignments are usually accepted from primarily the south suburban Chicago area, but we will travel farther for larger or more valuable collections.

We generally handle items that can be shipped with UPS. Larger items are sometimes accepted for consignment if they are especially popular or valuable. In such cases, eBay selling fees must be paid in advance (otherwise no advance charge is required for our services).

 

Please request a copy of the consignment agreement for detailed terms.  Advances are paid for significant collections.
